War is Kind
A series of completely constructed digital composite images depicting scenes from the Stephen Crane's poem War is Kind. The titles of the images are lines from the poem and, when read in order, create a new composite stanza that summarizes the nature of war:
These men were born to drill and die,
Little souls who thirst for fight.
Make plain to them the excellence of killing,
Point for them the virtue of slaughter.
The unexplained glory flies above them.
